Join us each week, and we’ll explore where fact meets fiction! Whether it’s the true origins of the cannibal doctor, Hannibal Lecter, or the frightening facts that inspired the Conjuring series!
What is “Insidious Inspirations“?
When I was younger, I was always terrified of horror movies. As soon as credits rolled, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. The killer was defeated, and the lights would turn on. It wouldn’t be until hours later- When I was home, huddled under my covers, late at night, that the killer’s visage would burn itself into my mind.
But there was one thought that’d calm my young adrenaline fueled brain: None of this is real. Well, now that I’m adult with unlimited access to Google, I’ve made the terrifying discover that actually, most of these horror stories did happen! If I have to suffer with this awful knowledge, I thought you should too.

Danny Sweet - Editor & Musician
Danny has performed with many notable groups, including the National Repertory Orchestra, Denver Philharmonic Orchestra, Colorado Wind Ensemble, Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Ultraphonic Big Band, Groove 'n Motion, and his own Danny Sweet Quintet. A multi-instrumentalist, Danny performs on all saxophones, clarinet, flute, and EWI. Having also performed with bands of all varying styles throughout the Denver area, Danny boasts the skill set and experience needed for being successful in a large variety of ensembles.
Danny is the man behind every edit, and song in Insidious Inspirations!
Addison Peacock - Lead Writer
Addison Peacock is a writer, podcaster, voice actor, and soup enthusiast based in Los Angeles. She currently hosts the dating sim podcast Playing Games with my Heart and can currently be found writing and voicing things all over the great big internet. She plays Moriah Harris on the award-winning actual play podcast A Horror Borealis, and recently appeared as Graham Anderson in The Subjective Truth and Doris in It Listens from the Radio. Her favorite things are scary stories, cats, and making weird art with her friends.

Bloody Disgusting is a horror entertainment website launched in 2001 by Brad Miska (“Mr. Disgusting”) and Tom Owen, they cover news regarding horror movies, games, comics and music. Most notably, Bloody Disgusting produced the V/H/S trilogy, and distributing films such as YellowBrickRoad, The Haunting of Helena and Outcast.
